-loves it when his daddy comes home
-likes to watch t.v.
-smiles and coos

Dear 3-month-old-Jett,
You make me so happy. Sometimes I love you so much it catches me off-guard. Like I'll just be looking at you and talking to you and I'll start to cry. And it's because my heart is over-flowing with love. And it's a love that is wonderful but also sometimes scary. It's scary because I don't know how to live without you now. My days are consumed with you. I love looking at you sleeping or watching you look at things. You are taking in the whole world. I talk to you all the time. You move your mouth like crazy but can't get any words out. I know you are trying. Don't give up. You'll get it.

I'm still learning a lot about you. I'm sorry for my mistakes. Like the time I put you in your bouncer and came back and you had fallen out.

I strap you in now.

We'll keep learning and loving and doing the best we can.

Today is Thanksgiving and you are 3 months old and I am very very very grateful for you.

Love,
Mom

Grateful #6

With the family in China

I am so grateful for travel and experiences. I am grateful for my parents for always providing opportunities for us to learn and explore the country and the world. Sometimes it was as small as packing us all up for a day trip. And sometimes we were able to experience cultures and people of other countries.

There is something very special about going to a place you have never been. About stepping out of your comfort zone to experience life from a different point of view. It's great to travel around the world. It makes me grateful for different types of people and their history. But it also makes me very grateful for my own country. I am always so happy to come home.

Grateful #5

After being gone for 4 days and 3 nights my husband is home. I now have my partner back. Someone to talk to and cook for. A person to laugh with and help me with our baby. He is back...

...and I am grateful.

Grateful # 4

I am so grateful for the gospel.

Sunday Thoughts

“When God wants a great work done in the world or a great wrong righted, he goes about it in a very unusual way. He doesn’t stir up his earthquakes or send forth his thunderbolts. Instead, he has a helpless baby born, perhaps in a simple home and of some obscure mother. And then God puts the idea into the mother’s heart, and she puts it into the baby’s mind. And then God waits. The greatest forces in the world are not the earthquakes and the thunderbolts. The greatest forces in the world are babies"
